Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of different communities. Many who've never known about it may think it is a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. However, this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised on Courtice just outside Oshawa within Ontario. The first goal she had was to be a dancer but an increase in her height meant that she literally outgrew her dance partners. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. As soon as I outgrew all my male partners then I stopped. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who turned to acting. Her high school teacher school was the one who pushed her into the right direction. It was her teacher who advised her to audition as Anne in the school's annual production. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned the Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, big and small. Most notable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast for the season 1 of the series and only seen occasionally.
